Northern NZ Dotterel 2024/25 Breeding Season

Snells Beach had a remarkable outcome with two pair of breeding Northern New Zealand Dotterel, tūturiwhatu, having nests and 6 chicks hatching. One chick passed from what is thought to be natural causes within a few days of hatching. Five chicks fledged and one has been reported at Tāwharanui and three at Ōmaha. I wonder where they'll go next.
